How much does an Artie meal plan cost?
Subscription pricing varies based on your dog's size, weight, and lifestyle needs. We offer flexible options including Topper, Half, and Full Portion plans. This allows you to easily customize your monthly plan to fit your budget.
How do you formulate your recipes?
Artie recipes are formulated to be complete and balanced under the guidance of our Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionist®.
What ingredients are used in Artie recipes?
Artie recipes include blends of freeze-dried and dehydrated proteins, fruits and vegetables, healthy grains, and essential vitamins and minerals. Visit our Nutrition page to view our recipes and ingredients.
Do I need to refrigerate the meals when they arrive?
No. Artie meals are shelf-stable and designed to go wherever life takes you.
Does your food meet AAFCO standards and WSAVA guidelines?
Yes. Every Artie recipe is formulated to meet AAFCO standards under the guidance of our Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionist®. You can also review how we comply with WSAVA guidelines here.
Should I consult my vet before using Artie?
We always recommend consulting with your veterinarian before making changes to your pet’s diet. Artie recipes are formulated to be complete and balanced under the guidance of our Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionist®.
Is your packaging environmentally friendly?
Yes. The Artie Feeding System™ and pre-portioned meals are shipped in 100% recyclable cardboard. Each Artie meal cup is also BPA free, phthalate free and recyclable in all communities that accept paper cups. Artie lids are 100% aluminum and recyclable. After serving an Artie meal, simply remove the lid and rinse or wipe the container clean before placing into the appropriate recycling container.
Is your food “human-grade”?
No. We’ve done the research and found that most “human-grade” diets can claim no health benefits from doing so. We formulate our diets to the strict standards of our Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionist® and hold ourselves to the highest food safety standards well above what is required by the industry.
How do you ensure the safety and quality of your nutrition?
Artie recipes are formulated under the guidance of our Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionist® and produced under strict food safety and quality standards. Every batch is tested before shipping, and all ingredients are fully traceable from origin to finished product.
Meal Plans
How do I manage, change or cancel my subscription?
You have complete control through your Artie dashboard to make changes or updates to your Artie subscription at any time. You can adjust portions, swap recipes, pause shipments, or cancel your plan entirely at any time.
We are 100% transparent and welcome you to call or email us any time to discuss your subscription. We also offer complimentary 1-on-1 Artie Concierge calls to help address concerns or further personalize or customize your plan at any time.
What is the 72-hour cutoff rule for shipments?
Because each order contains pre-portioned meals, changes must be made at least 72 hours (or 3 days) before your next order is processed. We send proactive email and text reminders ahead of this window so you are always informed.
Do you offer mixed recipe meal plans?
Yes. Mixed recipe meal plans are available with a 50/50 split between two different recipes. Changes can be updated between shipments at any time.
Do I need to transition my pet to Artie?
Yes. We recommend allowing 1–2 weeks for your dog to gradually adjust to the Artie diet. Your Intro Box is designed to support the transition process, and our optional Variety Packs allow your dog to try additional recipes before making changes to future orders.
How often will I receive shipments?
After your 15-day Intro Box, your Artie order will automatically ship every 30 days. Each monthly shipment includes two pre-portioned daily servings (60 meals total).
The System
Can I make Artie without the system?
Yes. Artie meals can also be prepared simply by adding hot water, making them ideal for travel or added flexibility at home.
Does the system just warm up the meal?
No. The Artie Feeding System™ is not just adding hot water to prepare the meal. The system works similar to a single serve coffee machine in that it punctures each meal and does the entire process within the meal cup. It first reads the bar code on the bottom of each serving and then initiates a cooking cycle for that specific recipe and portion size. It then steams the meal to gently cook it while maintaining the texture and aroma of each ingredient (think of steaming broccoli vs. boiling it). It then adds water through a multi-directional shower head to cool it down to the perfect serving temperature.
How does the Artie Feeding System™ work?
Fill the water reservoir, insert your dog’s pre-portioned Artie meal, then press the button. The system scans the meal and uses a combination of steam and hot water to gently prepare and cool each serving to the perfect serving temperature, or Prey Temperature™, in about 3 minutes. Once complete, simply stir and serve.
How big is it? Will it fit on my counter?
The Artie Feeding System™ measures 10.0” wide, 11.5” deep, and 12.0” high, with a footprint similar to a traditional coffee maker.
How can I be sure the system is safe for use in my home?
The Artie Feeding System™ has been designed and manufactured to comply with strict safety standards established by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Each system has been carefully tested to meet or exceed safety standards intended for safe use in your home.
What colors does the system come in?
The Artie Feeding System™ is currently available in four colors: Black, White, Red, and Teal.
